Cadillac: 2000 sts ac blower motor issues, check fuse, cadillac sts

Question
QUESTION: My blower motor in the cabin quit working on my 2000 Cadillac sts. I purchased a new one, and before removing the old one I plugged it in to see if it cured the problem.  It did not.  I have voltage at the purple middle wire of the three wire plug even with the ignition off.  I have read that there is an ac control module.  Could this be my problem?  If so where is it located?  Can it be tested? How?  Thanks for your time.

ANSWER: There IS a blower control module but it is well hidden behind the glove box. If you purchase a new one you will see what your looking for under the dash.

FIRST, Check fuse HVAC BLO FUSE (10 amp) in the Rear fuse box In the left hand rear of the passenger compartment under the rear seat.

QUESTION: I did check that fuse with test lamp, had power both sides.  Is there a way to test the control module, or is it a replace and see.  Will I see it by removing the glove box?  Thanx for the fast response, great site!

Answer
NEVER EVER use a test light unless instructed to. ALWAYS use a meter as you can have a blown fuse and due to a backfeed from another circuit a fuse will test OK with a test light, But will show battery voltage on one side and much less than battery voltage on the other side.

I would need to e-mail you a PICTURE of the module and PICTURES are NOT allowed on this website site and I do NOT own this website.
