Cadillac: wiring a rear view camera for a 1997 Cadillac Sedan Deville, rear view camera, fuse panel

Question
My elderly mother wants me to install a "backup" camera camera and small LCD monitor on her 1997 Cadillac Deville.  I have wiring instructions for the monitor and have downloaded a wiring diagram (actually a table of wire color codes) for the Cadillac.  The monitor calls for a +12v battery connection, a +12v "ignition" connection, a ground, and a +12v reverse light connection.  I find that the harness for the ignition switch has two red battery leads and a pink ignition wire.  So, here's my question.  Will it make sense to connect the new wires close to the  point where the harness connects to the switch, or is there some better or more accessible place that you would recommend.  Part of my complication in planning this is that my mother and the car are 500 miles away and once I'm there I won't have internet access or tools that I don't bring with me.
I appreciate any advice you can provide and I know that my mother does as well.

Sincerely,
Bill Perreault

Answer
I would rather that you obtain your full time battery voltage from the fuse panel as well as your ignition circuit. I can provide PICTURES and directives to perform this task at the fuse panel and where to tap into the reverse lamps.
