Cadillac: 1981 ecm, fleetwood brougham, windshield area

I have a 1981 fleetwood brougham 368 and the previous owner has changed the ecm 3 times and it continues to fail.  After taking it to the electrical shop they informed me that some kind of fluid or water is leaking into the compartment and shorting out the computer.  Please tell me how water can be leaking into that compartment or if you have ever heard of anything like this before.

yes, I have heard of this before. Usually it is a windshield leak that is causing the problem.

Remove the glove box liner and remove the ECM from it's original location WITHOUT disconnecting the wires and watch for a water leak while someone drenches all around the windshield area.
