Cadillac: 1998 cadillac deville fan blower, electrical harnesses, cadillac deville

Question
I don't have enough room to physically remove the fan blower. Should I separate the fan from the motor and remove in two pieces? If so, how do I do it without damaging the fan blades?

Answer
Disconnect and move the ignition control module.

push all electrical harnesses out of the way.

Remove solenoid purge valve.

remove inertial plate from blower motor.

remove screws.


Purchase NEW blower motor and look for the way the inertial plate is mounted on the blower motor.
