QUESTION: Hi,Recently as i was driving home from work steam started pouring out of my engine.I found out that a Heater hose? had a leak in it.I replaced the hose that had a leak in it.Now when i start my car I get a message saying Engine hot,A/C compressor Off,and a service Engine soon light.I noticed that the hosing that i took off was crumbling on the inside of it.Im 19 and dont have much money,what do you think the problem is. The car has 116,000 miles on it.
ANSWER: Access the computer codes via:

1. Ignition ON.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and then release them.

3. Diagnostic codes will appaer on the screen as well as if they are CURRENT or HISTORY and then the codes will stop.

4. Turn OFF ignition.

5. Tell me what codes you get and if they are CURRENT or HISTORY..

E030 History
B450 Current
ECM?

Thats what it says

Answer
E030 = RPM error to great.

B450 = Coolant temp to high.

Possible debris stuck inthermostat from hose internally crumbling.

CLEAR the codes from the computer and see which ones return via:

1. Re-enter diagnostics and when you see ECM? Push and release the HI button and you will see ECM DATA?

2. keep pushing the LO button until you see ECM CLEAR CODES?

3. Push and release the HI button and you will see ECM CODES CLEAR and wait 3 seconds and turn off the ignition.

4. This will clear the E codes.


To clear the B codes:

1. re-enter diagnostics and get to the ECM?

2. Push and release the LO button and you will see BCM?

3. Push and release the LO button several times until you see BCM CLEAR CODES?

4. Push and release the HI button and you will see BCM CODES CLEAR and wait 3 seconds and turn off the ignition.

5.This will clear the B codes.



Re-enter diagnostics and see what codes return and if they are HISTORY or CURRENT.
