Cadillac: 84 sedan deville, climate control, letters and numbers

i'm trying to get my caddy back on the road and i've been told it needs a ignition module because sometimes it will start and run like a champ the after 30 mins to and hour later it will die out the wont start for a few hours to a day later I just wounder is this the correction solution to the problem?

Has the check engine ever illuminated on the dash ?.

perform this test.

1. ignition ON.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on your climate control panel for 3 seconds and release them.

Tell me every letter and number that appaers until it stops displaying and you see .7.0

List the letters and numbers as if you were video-taping them. If you can video tape them, E-mail the video to me at: onlineautohelp@msn.com

3. turn OFF the key.
