Cadillac: 1992 Cadillac Sedan DeVille, low oil pressure, digital instrumentation

Question
QUESTION: Like others who have a Caddy this old, I am having multiple problems with mine.  First, the electronic fuel gauge began blinking E.  I disconnected the battery to see if it would reset and that didn't help.  Also, occassional sputtering accompanied this problem during acceleration.  Second, after I replaced the starter I began to hear a noise in the steering whenever I turn at low speeds.  Next, my transmission seems to take a little longer than normal to shift out of first gear.  That's the only gear this happens in.  Finally, after driving a while the engine oil light comes on at stops and goes out when I am moving again.  Now that I am thinking about it, I am having problems setting the clock and the owner's manual isn't really telling me anything about this.  Please advise.  Thanks.
ANSWER: Before I would go putting any money into the vehicle, Have the oil pressure tested via an external known good oil pressure gage and make sure it is at specs.

QUESTION: I have not been able to check the oil pressure yet but before I do I wanted to pose to you this additional problem. I noticed today that on my instrument cluster where the engine oil check light is none if those lights come on anymore at start up.  This has been going on since my fuel quantity indicator started blinking (the original problem).  Could this be a symptom of the original problem?

Answer
It is possible that you have a faulty digital instrumentation display and or a BCM computer problem.

Get the oil pressure tested FIRST, Then we can look at your other problems. If you have low oil pressure you may not want to sink alot of money into the vehicle to fix the engine.
