Could be:
the panel itself.
the BCM computer.
The Ac-Heater programmer.

What were the trouble codes ?. ?
Answer -
Start by CLEARING all the codes from the computer and see which ones come back.
To clear the codes.
1. Ignition ON. Engine OFF.
2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons for 3 seconds and release them.
3. All the codes will appear with a LETTER in front of each code such as E or B or L or R.
4. When you see the display showing ECM? push and release the HI button.
5. You will now see ECM DATA? continue pushing and releasing the LO button until you see ECM CLEAR CODES?
6. Push and release the HI button and wait 3 seconds and turn OFF the ignition.
7. Wait 5 minutes and then repeat steps 1 thru 3 and let me know what codes reappear.

Are you POSITIVE that it said SERVICE CCR SYSTEM ?. There is NO CCR system. There is a CCP system.
AnswerCCR which is COMPUTER COMMAND RIDE did NOT come out until 1991.
This is going to take numerous pages of pictures and test procedures to determine if the cause for your BLANK displays is caused by either the:
Instrument panel cluster.
Climate control diagnostic information centetr.
BCM computer.
