Cadillac: short maybe?, wire harnesses, wiring connector

Question
a transistor in the ecm(two wire harnesses plugged in) burned up including area around it.  i replaced the ecm from one i was lucky to find at the pick-a-part for same model and year, 1991 deville.  well, the same exact transistor started to burn up in the ecm i repaced it with.  does that mean short and where to look?

YEAR-MAKE-MODEL ?????????. Also need to know which connector at the ECM wiring connector burnt up ?.
