Cadillac: 99 eldorado etc service engine soon, wheel bearing, carbon buildup

Question
1999 etc no past repairs.
I had the dreaded S.E.Soon light pop on after I just rolled over 100k. I have noticed the car just shut off when I stopped at a light from just exiting the interstate. This happened twice. I crank it it starts and shuts off if you take your foot off the pedal.

I reved it up severly and the engine sounded like it was hitting it's revf limiter and after a few pulses of that it cleared out. I had it happen again a few days later or 50 miles later.

Where is the egr valve located on this northstar?
I hear the part is high dollar.

Also I notice when I run the A.C. rolling at any speed the car feels like its jerking or skipping a beat or a bump feeling like a cut out switch is really pulling hard. I had the AC checked and ole boy said she's working fine and no evidence of anything switch, oil freon etc.it

It does this only when the AC is on though. The ac works fine but that bummping is really anoying.Could the compressor be bad and it work fine?

I do have problems of the traction control engaging when it shouldnt and the abs light showing with it. The brakes are new and it did this before the brakes were done. They say its a inner wheel bearing or such causing it to slip thinking it needs traction control.

She's a fine ride and love it to death but this malfuntion makes me want to pull my hair out or whats left. Help Help Help

Answer
Your problem is more likely to be your PRNDL switch of which raises the idle speed when the vehicle is put into gear to stop it from stalling.

Stalling can also be caused by a blackish residue covering both sides of the throttle plate in the throttle bore and or a carbon buildup within the EGR system.

When you are driving down the highway with the A/C ON, as soon as the A/C compressor engages a signal is sent to the computer at the exact same time to increase the engine speed so you won't feel that BUMP everytime the A/C compressor engages.

As to a wheel bearing causing your system to switch this is very doubtful.
