Question -
Sorry to bother you again, i recently asked about my 98 cadillac seville sts v8 4.6. and the codes it put out which were again:
p1153
p1133
p1258 along with these were codes for cylinder misfire and torque conter sensor. the guy said cylinder misfire is for new spark plugs.
I just spoke to a friend who is a tech for nissan, when i mentioned all these codes and problems he said this might be because i have a blown head gaskets. IS this true? do i really have a blown head gaskets? Does this mean i need a whole new engine? Or should i just fix these problems and then check for blown head gaskets? TOM please help me i love the seville!!

Answer -
Is your engine temp reading above normal ?. Normal is 220-240 degrees.

Are you USING and having to add coolant to the radiator and or overflow jug ?.

Answer -
Yes, this IS normal. What other parts did they replace besides the water pump ?. A faulty water pump seems kind of ODD.

Answer -
as long as it is working as you just described, Don't change or replace anything.

I am just a little skeptical about the cause being the water pump.

Answer -
To me it means you did NOT need a new water pump.

Question: are both cooling fans running when the temp gets real high ?.

Do you still have a slight missfire in the engine ?.

Are you getting the same or ANY codes ?.

Answer -
You need to CLEAR the codes from the computer and see which ones come back.

Answer
1. Ignition ON, Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push the ON/OFF and INFO^(info/up) buttons for 3 seconds and release them.

3. It should be in the DTC check mode.

4. Use the ON/OFF button to select, When it lists a question, i.e CODES?

5. Push ON/OFF button to select CODES? and the codes will start to appear if there are any.

6. After it stops displaying, when it askjs you to CLEAR CODES push the ON/OFF button and the codes will clear. You want to clear the PCM CODES.
