Cadillac: ECM setting, cadillac eldorado, speed jumps

Hello Tom. I have a 1988 Cadillac Eldorado Barritz. I recently installed a new ECM and I need the correct setting for it. It is causing the idle to jump erraticly. The engine control module light will come on at times & when it does the idle speed jumps. I had a scan run on it & it is supposed to idle at -3 to 3 degrees. It is registering at about 24 degrees at idle. Can you please help me on this?

Perform this test:

1. Ignition ON, Engine OFF.

2. Locate the OFF and WARMER buttons on the climate control panel.

3. Get a piece of paper and a pen.

4. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons for 2 seconds and then release.

5. Write down all the letters and numbers that appear on the screen and the numbers will stop displaying when you see .7.0.

6. Turn ignition switch OFF.

7. Let me know what numbers and letters that you get.
