Cadillac: Cadillac Blower Motor Fuse, fuse blocks, blown fuse

Question
Dear Mr. Joy,

I have a 1996 Cadillac Concours DeVille with 106,000 miles.  The blower motor has stopped all at once.  I tried switching back-and-forth from 'AUTO' to 'ECON' with no luck.  I have looked through my manual and I have located the three fuse & relay locations.  However, I cannot find any fuse designated for the blower motor.  I cannot find any fuse on the three fuse blocks that sound even remotely like it protects the blower motor.  Am I nuts, or is it called something else? Or... is there something besides a fuse that commonly cause the blower motor to stop?  Thank you in advance.

Answer
IF there has been NO RECENT work performed on the vehicle of ANYKIND WHAT-SO-EVER blower motor failures are caused either by the:

1. Heater-A/C control panel.
2. The PCM.
3. The Blower motor.
4. The blower motor control module.
5. A blown fuse.

Look in the fuse panel for a fuse where it is marked as:

HVAC
MDL
FUSE
25 AMP

If the fuse is good the most common fault is the blower motor control module located under the dash on the passengers side next to the blower motor.
