Cadillac: wont start, alternator, caddy

Question
my 93 caddy will not start we took off the alternator and it's good but the car still will not start what could the problem be.

Answer
WHAT posessed you to think that the alternator is preventing the engine from starting ?.

Does the engine try and start or does the engine do NOTHING when you turn the key ?.

Do the headlights illuminate when you turn them ON ?

Please elaborate in more detail.
