i want to how displacement in demand technology
engine's work.
what i heard that this technology shut off half of intake and exhaust valve then how the clyinder works since the shut off cylinder will
create vaccum pressure during down movement of piston due cease of both valves.

Answer
The way it works is that BOTH intake and EXHAUST valves remain CLOSED thus no air can eneter the cylinder, Thus there is no air to be expelled out of the exhaust valve.

This similar type system was first introduced back in 1981 with the Cadillace engine, Of which did not work very well, But with the newer technology it seems to work very well. However, I personally have not driven one yet to see how the performance is while driving the vehicle.
