Cadillac: Digital Dash, gm buypower, luxury car market

Question
Hi Carlos,
I presently own a 1991 Ford Thunderbird LX that has a digital dash.  To be honest, I`m really spoiled by it, and I`m starting to look around for another car.

Does Cadillac offer digital dasboards in any of their models?  Maybe some other car mfg. that you know of?

Also, do you knw of a website that I can compare and view diferent car features, without having to "BUY" the darn thing?

Regards,
Rich Q.

Answer
Digital Dashs are out, analog is in.  So new car you won't find with that stuff.  My 90 Seville is all digital.  Futaba displays everywhere, all in the blue/green color.
I believe maybe the deville of the early 90's used it also.
But now everything is different.  On the new Cadi's digital is only used for the A/C control and the information panels under the guages.

If you go to any car manufacturer website, they usually have a compare feature where it will compare general specs with the competition.  Obviously if you go to Cadillac.com they will tell you only the stuff that is better than a lincoln, and if you go to lincoln it won't tell you what the Cadillac is better at.

Also, you might try the build your own features in the websites.  For all GM cars you can build your own and choose any accesories specific the way you want it and it gives you a price tag.  You can do that at GM buypower.

Ford should have something like that for the Lincolns, because I've used it before but for ford trucks, so they should have one for lincoln too.

Not only is it my personal opinion, but Cadillacs are just the American luxury car of choice.  Lincoln has rarely been able to match the technology that goes into the Cadillacs.
Such as the Northstar engine, which has been on Auto World magazines top ten engine list for many years.
The Cadillac has always come out with things before the Lincoln comes out with it.  Cadillac has usually been the innovator in the American Luxury car market, and even quite a bit in the world.  Cadillac was the first to come out with night vision.  You'd think the heafty price tag of a Mercedes, or BMW would include that, no such luck.

Good luck with your search.
