Cadillac: Brake/Accelerator Pedals, pilot holes, accelerator pedal

Question
I`m looking to buy a car, but one of the things that is keeping me away from the one I like is the pedals.  The brake pedal is a good 6" higher than the accelerator pedal.  Is there anyway to adjust that?  Or move tha gas pedal up a notch so that they are fairly even?  My foot gets caught UNDER the brake pedal, and I don`t exactly feel safe with that.  So can it be adjusted is my question.  Thanks a lot!!  (The car is a Cadillac 1983 Seville 4D Sedan.)

Answer
Yes, it is quite simple, for racing modifying the accelerator pedal is common so you can brake and blip the throttle while downshifting at the same time.  Obviously for racing they take the time to do it perfect with metals but I will give you the easiest way.

Basically you could just have a thick piece of wood, cut so it fits over the pedal and is around the same shape, you could just drill some pilot holes in the wood and then some holes in the pedal and bolt the wood down to the pedal, with some nuts and bolts.  That's probably the easiest way to do it, without having to deal with metals and stuff like that.

Hope this helps
