Chevrolet: 99 Z28 Camaro Squealing, z28 camaro, asembly

Question
My Camaro is making a squealing noise.  I replaced both belts and belt tentioner asembly, and that actually seem to stop how loud the squealing was but it still makes a noise. Any guess?

Answer
Rob,
I would start by checking the idler pulley to see if it has any lateral movement. When the bearing starts to go, they squeal pretty good. Physically check the belts with the motor off to test the tension. They shouldn't move much if you push or pull on them in the open spaces, and if they do, it could be that they gave you a belt just a little bit too big, a half inch is a lot when it comes to belts.  Also, sometimes if you have had a belt squealing for a bit, it can build up a film on the pulleys that will make a noise under load. get a can of belt dressing from your local parts store and spray on the belts with the motor running, then drive it to see if it makes the noise anymore. Good Luck!
