Chevrolet: 1995 monte carlo, push rod, compression test

My Monte Carlo has a 3.1 V6 It has just over 100,000 miles on it when I get down on the accelerator to pass I hear my motor popping inside the intake could a bad plug cause this?

Hi - it could be a plug, but with that mileage it could be a lifter , rocker,push rod, etc. also do a compression test on each cyld. check the wires also. if  you find nothing than it should have a meter put on it to see if any codes pop up. ok
