Chevrolet: 1983 G20 w/305 H code, vacuum lines, wd 40

Question
The electric choke appears to be completely inop. I've replaced almost all vacuum lines, hooked up a couple of wires I found unhooked, tried to cycle the choke manually and the front barrels remain fully open when cold....and don't fully close as long as I've run the engine...engine races at 1400-1600 when cold.

Hi sorry for taking so long ,you can get a can of WD-40 and spray the choke all up ,and the carb. linkage . this will free it up if it is sticking at all.Have you tried to adj. the choke. You can go to the choke when its cold and see if it is working and you can adj. the idle on the choke linkage when cold.
