Chevrolet: Dead battery, starter solenoid, dead battery

My car seems to have a short of some kind and it can't be started by jumping it anymore which means its gotten worse. When I try to start it the dash clicks and flashes like crazy and my lights flicker on and off once or twice. Also, after my battery died I noticed a clicking that sounded like my right rear blinker (which wasnt blinking), from the trunk and I could acually go back there and feel what ever was clicking from under the trunk's metal ceiling. What should I do???

what type car ?  is there a push re-set button in the back ? and if it  is just clicking when you try to start it the battery is dead. or the starter/solenoid is bad, I would put a obd meter on it to see what codes pop up. the fuel pump is in the back also.
