Chevrolet: power steering, power steering hose, pump reservoir

Question
I took my car in for a squeeling noise when I turned.  They said I
needed a new power steering hose.  When I picked it up my power
steering didn't work at all.  When I took it back they had left the cap
off and a rag was left under the hood.  Now they are saying the
pump burned out.  does this make any sense when the only
problem I had was a squeeling noise?  And nothing with the
steering?

Answer
It makes perfect sense. They screwed up by leaving the cap off the steering pump reservoir and your pump burned out when there was no fluid left in the system.

Take it to the reputable shop that knows what they are doing. These guys sound like uneducated moronic crooks.
