Chevrolet: 2000 chevy, chevy cavilier, drive train

Question
I own a 2000 chevy cavilier...... My traction control light comes  off and on. Does not stay on for a long period of time. At times when i start it it shakes realbad and when driving it,it hesitates like it is sputtering.........
Any ideas on what this is?

Hi the first thing I would do is to check all fluid levels in the drive train. as far as the shaking and sputtering that could be due to some other condition. when was the last tune up ? if long ago I would have a OBD meter put on it to see if any thing is going bad.etc. it might be the MAP sensor. so have it looked into  ok >>>
