Chevrolet: Temperature, chevy venture, temperatur

Hi Roger,

I have a Chevy Venture 97, a few minutes after the engine is started, the temperatur gauges goes up more than half but it will go back down again after the car runs(as an illustration, it looks like showing 12.00 - 1.00 o clock and then goes back to 10.00 - 11.00.
The transmission was changed last summer. What is the problem?

Hi - it sounds like it is the sending unit or the gauge itself , when you turn the key the gauge gets  power from the battery and it is causing your gauge to jump up a bit but as long as it goes down and still works.I would not worry about it unless you wish to change the gauge.
