Chevrolet: 97 Chevy Cav Tach/random electrical, chevy cavalier, side fender

Question
I have a 97 Chevy Cavalier. It was recently in an accident, hit on the front driver's side fender. Since the accident, whilst I am driving, the tachometer will fall to zero, and the radio will shut off. Then the Tach will come back up, the radio back on, and I will get a system "Ding ding" like my keys are in and the door is open. This is the only lasting problem from the accident, and I don't know how to fix it. Any help?

Answer
 CHUCK ;
  HI - It sounds  like there is a dead short someplace- and it is grounding out at times - it soon might even kill the engine - if it was at a body shop they should have fixed it , I would first put it on a computer to see what comes up , and I would trace all the wires from the tach. / coil and the raido too. look for a cut wire.  ok
