Chevrolet: fan switch, chevy camaro, thermastat

Question
i have an 85 chevy camaro. it has the 305 with the tuned port injection. the car is running around 220 degrees.  now i live in the desert so it is hot here. what is the normal operating temp on this car?  does it have a 2 speed fan on it also? is there any way to wire the fan to where it stays on all the time? it was wired that way before but it was taken off when the motor was rebuildt.  any kind of feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Robert ,
Hi if I were you - I would take the the thermastat right out for the summer time. If it is that hot there , I would remove it  and that should cool it down a lot.As far as the fan if it is set to run all of the time-it will soon burn the fan motor out. I would remove the thermastat and flush the cooling system out - than fill with some new coolent and
it should run at around 190 or so.  it could even go to 180.? also you should check all of the hoses for any holes-leaks-etc.  KO
