Chevrolet: 62 Chevy, carbuerator, gas tank

Question
Roger,

Thanks for the reply on blowing air through the line from the fuel pump to the gas tank.

Should I disconnect the fuel line at the gas tank before I blow compressed air through the line, or leave it connected to the gas tank ?

Thank You

Hello Roger.

I have a 62' Impala with an L-6 Engine. I am not getting any gas to the carbuerator. To date I have changed the ceramic gas line filter and fuel pump. I suspect it could be gum/varnish in the fuel line from the gas tank to the pump. I have used Stabil. The gas tank is 1/2 full.
Any thoughts on what I should do to clear this line, or other things I should check ?
I also understand that there is a fine mesh screen on the outlet line from the gas tank. Perhaps it is plugged ?
Thanks very much for your help !

BOB ;
     HI - I would get a air hose and blow the fuel line - un  do the line at the fuel pump and put some air threw it. it should clean any thing that is in the way . - you can
also replace the line if need be. but try to blow some air through it. that should clear it. and yes there is a screen on the pick up tube but try the air first.

 HI  I would blow it from the front to the back . if you can get the line off from the tank than do it with it off , I would try to put some air threw the fill tube also so blow into the tank separate to clear the pick up tube/screen ok, but do not go overboard in the tank . just enough to blow it clear .  ok
