Question I have a 70 Impala. I just got the motor to run, and the steering was really tough.
The P/S pump was making a bunch of racket, so I though the tough steering was due to a bad pump.
I have replaced the pump, and have power steering turning to the left, but not turning to the right? It sounds strange, but it's true. What's the deal with it?
Any help will be appreciated.

Hea ! well are you shure that it is hooked up right !
I would look for any air in the system , and I would check the lines under the car and the steering arms , you might have one frozen up . and fill the pump with new fluid.
if the car was sitting over the winter something could have froze up on you .
also- is the pump you put in new ? or used ?
