Chevrolet: 1991 Beretta Serpentine belt, serpentine belt, pullys

Question
How do I release the tension on the serpentine belt for a 4 cyl 91 Beretta? I need to change the alternator and this has been holding me up. Thanks, Dan

Answer
Dan;
  the small idle arm  that the belt rest on can be moved in so it will take the tension off of it , you will need a bar for it, and it is REAL IMPORTANT that you remember where everything goes and do not turn the engine over when you have the belt off as you will mess up the timeing and than you will be stuck. so be carefull to not turn any of the pullys .   also if you have over 45 /50, 000 miles on the car I would put a NEW belt on , so it wll be done.  ok
