Chevrolet: 96 Corvette overheating, clutch fan, pressure test

Question
Sir,
 I see last April a gentleman named Jim asked you a question about his wifes 96 Corvette overheating problem. I too have the same problem, Dealership and my fav mechanic all say there is no problem, all computers etc working fine. In traffic it goes up to 240, start driving and it cools down. Did Jim ever reply and say if the 180 thermo worked or not? Thanks

Answer
Dwight ;
      I wonder if they took a pressure test to check for any leaks , Do you have a clutch fan on the car, also when it gets hot does it steam or over flow. if not thats good but a lower therm. will help you.and a plastic flex fan would be good also. at times the water will not flow fast enough when at a stop and it will cause the motor to get a little hot and than when you start to drive it will come back down , if it is doing that w/o spilling out than its not bad but it would be even better with the above replacememt flex fan , and therm. ok
