Chevrolet: 1994 cavalier 6 cyl, radiator fan, friends cars

hello.my friends cars radiator fan  stays on after shutting car off.it stays on for over 1.5 hours until i disconnected the battery.how can i disconnect power besides undoing battery.no overheating and no idiot lights that come on.is it some sensor that might be causing the problem or some sensor thats bad.it is cold outside in edmonton below 0 celsius.car runs fine other than that.thanks in advance.....ken

 There is a sensor that could be bad , if it was on for over 1 hr. I think something is wrong. You should not have to un-do the battery term as there should be a plug in wire on the fan  and there is also a fuse for it so as far as the batt. term that would be the last thing to un do.  ok
