Chevrolet: 1985 Caprice -Wipers will not turn off, wipers, occurance

The wipers were frozen with ice when they were turned on would not move. I turned the switch off, shut off the  engine and dislodged the wipers. Now the wipers work on all modes with the exception of the off position. When the switch is turned to the off position the wipers continue to operate at low speed. I have not had any problems with the wipers until this occurance.

Hi Richard;
  It sounds as if you striped the wiper linkage or the adjustment on the wipers.  can you try to re set the arms . put the switch in the off setting and try to place the arms in the off position on the window.and if  that dos'nt
help you might have burnt the switch but I think it is the adj..
