Chevrolet: 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe humming noise in 4 wheel, chevrolet tahoe, dry roads

Question
Can you tell me if there has been any problems with this year Tahoe with the 4 wheel drive. When the vehicle is put into "Auto" 4 wheel or 4 high and you step on the gas, there is a humming noise that seems to come from the front end of the vehicle. When you let off the gas, the noise almost goes away.

Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Bob

Answer
Hi Bob;
       I do not know of any call backs on the front ends , I have a silverado and mine too will hum , as long as your fluid is full and there is no clunking or clanking etc. it should be fine. also on dry roads in 4 whd  some chevys do that , and when turning also , I think it is nornmal for them.Again as long as the fluid is full and there is no sounds or burning smells or any  thing out of the normal .
as 4whd repair work is not cheep.And when in 4 whd the speeds should not be that hi.
