Chevrolet: 1987 Chev Spectrum, kick plate, fuel pump

We have a 87 spectrum that the fuel pump isnt kicking.  We wired around it but would like to wire direct.  The fuel pump is new and it will kick manually.  Any ideas.  Need to know what second set of wires are under kick plate that kick the fuel relay.  They have been gone around.

Hi Regina;
  I was wondering  did you check to see if the fuel pump fuse is bad ?
the wires should be a ground and a 12 v pos. the other wires could go to a sending unit ? if the pump is not working when it is hooked up normal than why is it not getting voltage , is there a short?
