Chevrolet: 1993 Chevrolet Cavalier oil drip from front center, oil drip, chevrolet cavalier

Hello,

It is very cold here in Minnesota.  this morning I found a black oil spot under the front of my car.  I realize it is probably oil.  My question is why is it leaking?    Can a hose break?

HI  NANCY;
          OIL - I WOULD NOT WORRY , I WOULD LOOK FOR MORE AND IF THERE IS THAN I WOULD HAVE IT LOOKED AT , AFTER TIME THE SEALS AND GASKETS IN THE ENGINE START TO DRY UP OR SHIRNK AND THE OIL OR FLUIDS MIGHT START TO LEAK OR DRIP AT TIMES , OR - WAS ANY OIL JUST PUT IN THE CAR? AS SOME MIGHT HAVE SPILLED ON THE ENGINE AND IT IS DRIPPING OFF NOW.       AGAIN IF IT IS ONLY THAT ONE OR TWO DROPS I WOULD NOT WORRY. CHECK THE OIL AND KEEP A EYE ON IT AND IF NO MORE SPOTS THAN ITS OK BUT IF THE OIL  SPOT GETS WORSE HAVE IT CHECKED OK.
