Chevrolet: heater core, heater hoses, heater core

Question
Roger, where is the heater core located and how is it removed and replaced. Heater does not blow hot air, only cold. I have not checked thermostat.

Answer
Hi Charles,
Well the heater core is the last thing that I would go looking to remove , first, is the engine getting hot enough and is the thermastat working ? or replace it  and flush the system out. Also are the (2) hoses that run into the fire wall on the left side of the motor getting hot as they go into the heater core and if they are both hot than your heater core is /should be just fine. The switches could be stuck or a vent could be open/closed , but first check the 2 heater hoses than if they are hot  you have something
else not working / also if there is a by-pass valve going to the heater core it could be stuck,so check all of those things , and is the rad cap ok. no leaks ?
