Chevrolet: chevrolet cavalier, chevrolet cavalier, reddish color

Question
I am looking at a used Chevrolet Cavalier tomorrow with the intent to purchase it for myself and my daughter.  I am wondering if there are any major problems with this paticular year or make of car, and also how many Kms I should expect to get from this motor before it dies. Can you tell me anything that may help?

1992 Chevrolet Cavalier
2.2 litre engine (4 cyl)
15300 Km already on it

The body appears good, it has been rustchecked as recently as a couple of months ago.

I would appreciate anything you may be able to share with me and would be grateful for any advise you might give me as far as what to look for before buying....the price is $3000 e-tested and certified, or $2800 as is.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Laurie

Answer
Hi Laurie;
         Hi well for the year of the car 3,000 is not bad as if it will not pass the emsh. test, do not buy it. also if the km is that of 15300 that is around 70 / 75,000 miles or around that, as with any car with hi. miles you should have it looked at good prior getting it. The brakes should feel good and not pull , does transmission  slip or jerk and look at the fluid to see if it is a nice reddish color or if brown or black it is bad, also the oil check it for color to see if it is clean or dirty or if any white in color could mean water in it.See if the car will pull or drive straight when you let the wheel go. also when you give it gas does it go ok or die out , just give it a good looking over and a good road test. OK
