Chevrolet: Ignition problem, batt cables, chevrolet malibu

Question
I have a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu with an intermittent ignition problem. The battery is new and fully charged. The alternator is new and charges the battery. Occasionally though after the car is shut off it will not restart. It will not turn over and nothing works when the key is in the Accessory or On position. No lights, radio, etc. If jump-started it starts right away. Immediately shutting it off and checking the battery shows that it is fully charged. Lights, radio, etc. work. Repeated restarting is fine. Can a short cause this?

Answer
Hea Brian;
          Yes, I would not be surprised if you do have a short, but you could also  have  dirty battery terminals
or even the conection of the batt. cables on the engine
or a wire shorting out someplace .So check all connections and clean and tighten them if needed ok.
