Chevrolet: Radio Reception, chev malibu, raido shack

Question
The stock radio in my Chev Malibu (AC Delco AM/FM Casette) has worked well since I had the car, about two years.  Recently though it has very poor reception when the volume is low but normal reception when the volume is turned up high.  Do you what may be causing this?
Note: this is in a 2000 model.  I know this is not your expertise, but the others were all maxed out.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Joe;
     I wonder if the area you live in now has some type of micro type antena or sending type system as that will do what you now have happening to you, I would go to raido shack and pick up a cheep antena booster for less than 25.00  and it will boost your reception a lot, I think it will help you and if not than the radio might be going.ok
