Chevrolet: IGNITION, impala chevrolet, timeing

Question
I OWN A 1970 IMPALA CHEVROLET. THE IGNITION FAILS
WHEN I STOP. THIS IS NOT CONTINUOUS BUT OCCURS
PERIODICALLY. THE LOCAL MECHANIC FOUND A HOLE IN
THE FUEL PUMP AND REPLACED IT BUT THIS DID NOT
CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE CAR RESTARTS WITHOUT ANY
DIFFICULTY UNLESS IT IS HOT.I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP IN SOLVING THIS PROBLEM. THANKS.

Answer
HI ART,
Thats not good,    it could be the choke adj. or you might need a tune up , the timeing could be off, the carb. could be in need of a adj. and the idel could be low, or it
could just be the idle adj. is too low. bring it up a bit.
it sounds as it is a simple thing like an adjustment.
