Chevrolet: egr valve, blown fuses, geo metro

Help! i have a 1992 geo metro it was running poorly would only do about 20 the plug had blown out the back of the egr valve the hot exhaust had burned a hole in 2 vacume hoses but it still ran. I replaced the hoses and the egr valve now it won't start at all turns over great but won't start shes getting fuel and fire ,timings correct, acts like it want's to fire when you first hit it but then jest turns over and won't fire, any ideas driving me nuts.

  Well it is a bit out of my ball park as I do older cars but did you burn any wires or short anything out ? and how about any blown fuses, you can try the other person in this area if you do not find anything ok
does any red light stay on on the dash - check engine something might have to be reset.
