Chevrolet: 2001 Impala Blinker & Engine Temp Problem, engine temp, signal problem

Question
I have a 2001 Chevy Impala (43,000 miles).  My blinkers are rather temperamental.  At times they work well and others they blink a few times then quit or just don't work at all.  I had a friend following me the other day that informed me my break lights (the right side at that time)worked occasionally.  I have checked and even replaced fuses and this hasn't resolved the problem.

Another recent problem (when it rains it pours right?) I am having is my engine temp. fluctuates when idol or driving city streets.  My Impala normally operates right around 165-170.  If I stop or slow down below 40 mph, it jumps to 180-185 in a matter of seconds.  I have checked the fluid levels and they are right where they should be.

Any ideas?  You advice is greatly appreciated!

Answer
Hi Marcy, I havent worked on gm since mid 90s so im not familure with the impala, but the signal problem is probably the flasher. As for the other problem have it pluged into a analizer that will tell you if you have a bad sensor of if the fan is working or not. I hope this helped you if you need more info just let me know
