I have a 1995 Calvalier.  It will cut out while I am driving.  It will start back up immediately, but will cut out again.  I went to an automotive shop and they said it needed a tune-up and a fuel filter.  I replaced those items and it is still doing the samething.  Do you have any suggestions?

Hi Pam
Well you had a tune up good, but what type of a place did you go to - don't they have a computor to check the car ?
It might be a sensor , could be the map sensor ? , have someone put it  on a computor , if you do not have a light comming on the dash telling you something is wrong , it is something else .Have it checked as it might not start one time. OK

Thank you for your quick response.

I took my car in and they did do a diagnostic test on it and could not find anything.  So, they suggested getting the tune up and replacing the fuel filter.  Is it hard for someone to put a map sensor on?  When my car stops, I get no warning, no lights or anything.  It starts right back up immediatley.  Any other suggustions?

Answer
HI Pam
Well as far as the sensor if you say that it was put on a computor it would have showed up, so it might be something else,I wonder how good the people you went to were as most things will show up when put on a computor, it could be a short , or a elect. part going bad , or the computor itself , did you take it to a certified place ?
It could be so many things ? key switch ? ing.system? starter motor? ,I can only say find someone that has the proper equp. the other people might have overlooked something ? I bet it is a simple thing.I wish I could help you more, but when you have a condition like you have , it has to be looked at, OK.good luck
