Chevrolet: 2003 Chevy Malibu, brake pads and rotors, chevy malibu

Question
I had recently gotten my tires rotated and now I have a schreeching sound along with a rubbing noise near my front left tire.  Do you think that the tire store might have done something to cause these noises or could it be that my brakes are already going bad?  It's only got 32,800 miles on it.

If it is the brakes, what is the average cost of repair because I am totally clueless of auto repair charges and I'm afraid of being taken advantage of...

Answer
Hi Janelle, it is possible, but unlikly that the shop did anything to cause a screeching in your brakes. There is a warning device on your brake pads that screeches to warn you that your brake pads need replacing. If you do much city driving your car has the average amount of miles for a brake job. Take it in and have them checked to make sure. Brake job costs, just to replace the brake pads about $50, for brake pads and rotors, about $100. I hope this helps you, if you need more info just let me know. Regards, Keith
