Chevrolet: valves sounding on a 200 geo can you help me, geo metro, stp

its a 2000 chevy geo metro the valves are sounding does it have an adjustment

There is really no adj. on that so I would say - when was the last oil and filter put in ? also I would add a can of STP and some good H.D. oil those valves are tourqued to specs and that is it so if there is a clacking sound it could be from wear on the parts or oil break down so the best that I can think of other than going to a mech. is to change the oil and add H.D. oil & STP and see if it helps you.and if it sounds that it might be something worse than just a tick do not wait as if it is a bad valve or spring etc. it can cause serious damage if you wait till it goes.
