Chrysler: Sebring 1996, chrysler corp, sebring

Question
I bought a Sebring V6 14 months ago. Within the first month the transmission had to be replaced. Now 13 months later the transmission is out again. Could this be a manufacturing defect? And have you any knowledge of anyone else having this terrible problem? Also I would like to get in touch with the Chrysler Corp.via email or phone. Do you know if they have an address on the net?

Thanks So Much,
Inez K. Sizemore

Answer
Hello Inez.

I had a similar problem at about 20K miles and am experiencing it again at about 70K miles.  It is apparently an ongoing and consistent manufacturing defect in the transmission,

I have found several sites on the 'net that relate to this problem and they seem to say that you have to contact chrysler directly to get any kind of help and even then it is difficult.

look at www.daimlerchrysler.com for the chrysler phone numbers and at http://badtrans.webprovider.com/id4.htm for more info on this piece of crud transmission.  The site also has other informational links.

If you manage to get some information please share it with me.  I am as frustrated as you seem to be and would love take these guys to court for at least the $$ i've shelled out to pay for the transmissions!

take care
