May not be in your field of expertise but I wonder if a Dodge Caravan with about 55,000m  mil4s on the odomer should be avoided ...if the rest of the vehicle seems sound.

55000 miles is not too many miles, the question you should ask them is if they kept the oil changed at regular intervals.If it is a sound vehicle at a good price you shouldn't avoid it.

Many thanks for your answer...I wonder if I could trouble you once more and ask your opinion on Chevrolet Venture vans. I seem to see more on the lots than I see Caravans and i have been told the Venture isn't "as good" as a Caravan. I'm wondering if that's an accepted truth by those who know vehicles much better than I do or if its just an opinion...

I think it's really a matter of opinion,I know someone who has a Venture and hasn't had any trouble with it.You get lemons in every make of vehicle on the road.I wouldn't really worry too much about peoples opinions on what to or not to buy.If you did you'd probably go out and buy a bicycle because in just about every car or truck forum on the net has someone saying something negative about every make of vehicle on the road.Every make of vehicle is just competition for another company,it's really in what you are looking for!Thanks RamMan.And you're questions are not bothering me.If you need help with something just give me a hollar.Thanks Again.
