Dodge: aftermarket, fuel injection problems, ram 1500 hemi

Question
I don't know if you can answer this question for me but I thought I would give it a shot. I installed a K&N fuel infection performance kit on my 2004 Ram 1500 (Hemi). Excellent product by the way. Someone where I work said I would void my warranty by having it on my truck. All the literature I've read about it says that it's against the law for them to void my warranty for using an aftermarket item. It does say it hasn't been CARB certified yet but is in the process of being certified. Maybe you could clear this up for me. Any help would be appreciated. If you have any ideas about getting better gas mileage that would be greatly appreciated too. Thanks.

Answer
James,
If anything happens to the truck as in fuel injection problems or anything related to performance, you can bet that when you take it to the dealer they will tell you that the warranty is void.Any tampering with the vehicle while under warranty will void the warranty. You cannot add aftermarket parts to a vehicle to improve performance while under warranty. It is against the law for them to void a warranty, but not if parts are added to try and improve performance,or gas mileage or whatever it may be.All i can tell you is to just take a chance if anything happens to where you need to visit the dealer, maybe for some reason they will overlook it.As far as getting better gas mileage all you can do with that engine is to keep it tuned up and keep your foot out of the pedal.
