Ford: 04 f150 wont start, k n air filter, maf sensor

after cleaning my k&n air filter and putting it back in. the truck wont start? it turns over but wont fire. any suggestions?

Did you follow the instructions on cleaning and re-oiling the filter exactly?

Most of the time, the filter is not thoruoghly dried, too heavily oiled and not allowed to drain excess oil out of it before it is reinstalled.  This usually takes us 1/2 hour with a heater in the shop to do the job correctly.

I ssupect that you have coated the MAF sensor with oil.  This will prevent it from detecting any airflow into the engine.

Remove the filter and sprat the sensor with an aeresol intake cleaner (non corrosive) and make sure the sensor is plugged in.  Start the truck.  If the truck runs ok now, reclean the filter correctly and reinstall.
