Ford: ford engine knocking, mechanic friend, goofy reason

Question
2005 f150, 5.4triton. 93k miles. 4x4. engine is knocking, just started.  more of a ticking.  mechanic friend warned me of this when i first bought it.  said it is timing chain slapping on the timing cover, because the guide rails are worn out???  read stuff on net about cam phasers.

Answer
1. Before replacing any parts for the timing chain or guides, refer to TSB 06-19-8 (this is the revised TSB for 06-04-7). The TSB addresses possible lash adjuster or camshaft sprocket/phaser for the Variable Cam Timing (VCT). Also some noise, especially when cold, is considered normal.

see attached TSB's
I can only attach 1 per question for some goofy reason, so, if you will send me a new question, I will send you the other TSB on Ticking 5.4 engines

This silly program will not allow me to send pdf file either

add .pdf to the end of the filename i sent to be able to open it
